Have you ever wanted to be a secret agent?

Casey Jackson is an agent fresh out of the Academy. For his first assignment, he has a seemingly ho-hum case in the suspiciously clean and tidy desert town of Southacre. It does not take long for Casey to suspect a darker side to this utopia…

He is assigned to recover the mysterious Depth-Defying Device… no one knows what it does, but some dark figure will do anything to get it…

Not sure if he can work with his partner, Casey struggles to get a firm grip on his responsibilities, take his next right steps, and act courageously to see justice come to Southacre.

If secret agents, humorous crime mysteries, and sneaky villains are your thing, then you might have what it takes to join part one of Brian Thomas Cropp’s futuristic and funny noir, In Spite of All the Danger!

Kids really enjoyed it. It is the first of a series, and my kids were immediately ready for Book 2, which isn’t out at the time of this review (though it looks like it will be released soon). It does stand on its own, though. Having read it to the kids, I enjoyed the frequent humor as well as the twists and turns of the plot.
